BIO

From the San Joaquin Valley in California, Leif Shires grew up in and around a very eclectic mixture of music. His loves have ranged from Jazz, Latin, Funk, Pop, Gospel, Rock, and even Classic R&B with the legendary Memphis Horns. Recently touring with Jack White, Wanda Jackson, Kelly Clarkson, Jaci Velasquez and a member of Christian Latin jam band Salvador. Leif has discovered that his passion as a musician has blossomed into artistry.

Shires is now signed with Green Hill Music in Nashville Tennessee along with his Jazz vocalist wife Jaimee Paul. Both artists work together for a beautiful blend of talents. Mostly emphasizing on standard and cool Jazz, they have both released albums under the direction of Jack Jezzro who has produced countless albums, and wo also graces both albums with his extraordinarily smooth guitar playing. Leading into his current partnership with Green Hill Music, Leif caught the eye of the "Godfather of Southern Gospel" ...Bill Gaither. Bill, (in concert with Greg Howard-VP of Green Hill) seeing Leif's potential, encouraged the label to release a project.

Now on his third record (second with Green Hill), Shires is continuously excited about his career. His debut label recording, "What a Wonderful World" fared well, paving the way to his first Christmas album "Cool Jazz Christmas" released in 2010.

Shires, founder of TheSectionHorns.com, has also been involved in many projects and shows with several artists spanning a variety of genres. Some of these artists include, My Morning Jacket, Tom Jones, The Secret Sisters, Sandi Patty, Toby Mac, Leogun, Barry Gibb, T.G. Sheppard, Kelly Lang, Ben Utecht, Brian Fuente, Melinda Doolittle, Mandisa, Anna Haas, Phil Stacey, Denver Bierman, The Whigs, and many more. Leif has also played before many audiences, some including a U.S. President, Senators, Congressmen, the Prime Minister of Poland, Ambassadors, leading military officials from around the world, and even the Pope.

Determined not to take for granted the many opportunities that Mr. Shires has been blessed with, he continues to perfect his craft. Desiring to bring peace and comfort through music into a world that needs hope.
